Namibia Special Risks Insurance Association (Nasria) on Wednesday handed over sponsorships worth N$134 518 to various beneficiaries.
In so doing, Nasria reaffirmed its commitment to foster growth and progress in education, agriculture, health, and community empowerment initiatives.
The five recipients of the sponsorship are Kids Care College (N$14 518); both International University of Namibia (IUM) and the Office of the Erongo Governor (N$20 000 each) and Elondo- East Primary School from the Omusati region and Nengushe Secondary School from the Oshana region, which each received N$40 000.
Accepting the sponsorship on behalf of Kids Care College, Julia Kapolo expressed gratitude towards the leadership of Nasria, stating that the sponsorship plays a meaningful role in strengthening the learning environment for the learners.
“Support of this nature greatly contributes to the welfare and academic growth of learners entrusted to our care. We are deeply grateful for Nasria’s commitment to supporting education within the community,” Kapolo states.
Principal of Nengushe Secondary School, Natangwe Hamakali, welcomed the sponsorship, saying that the sponsorship will alleviate some of the challenges the school is facing.
“We are very much grateful for the sponsorship of N$40,000 from Nasria because it’s going to address our challenge, which is a photocopying machine. We want to improve efficiency in terms of teaching and learning. And ultimately to improve our academic performance,” Hamakali said.
He assured that the sponsorship will be put to good use, as it benefits the school while motivating the staff.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Nasria MD John Uusiku said that the event not only symbolises the transfer of resources but also the company’s unwavering commitment to the development and empowerment of communities across Namibia.
“We believe that empowerment begins with our communities. By ploughing back into our communities where we operate and create lasting positive changes. These sponsorships reaffirm our pledge to continue this journey of sustainable empowerment, promoting societal growth and community development,” Uusiku said.
“We conduct four investment ceremonies a year. For this financial year alone, our investments have reached nine political regions of Namibia, reflecting our quest for regional footprint and inclusive development,” Uusiku said.
Nasria’s sponsorship efforts total N$600 000 towards the corporate social responsibility and investment commitment for the 2025/26 financial year, it was further revealed.
