WINDHOEK – Expenditure of N$6.73 million was achieved by the Namibian Agronomic Board (NAB), mainly on silos for strategic reserves in Tsandi in the Omusati region in the 2012/13 financial year.

This is reflected in the annual report of the NAB, which was tabled in the National Assembly last week. The NAB acts as agency for the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry (MAWF) for the construction of silos for national grain reserves. Contracts for about N$24 million will be signed in the new financial year for further silos and auxiliary buildings at Omuthiya in the Oshikoto region.

In addition, the NAB has been involved in smaller development expenditure on the Mahangu Developmend Funds, the Indigenous Plant Task team and horticultural development.
