WINDHOEK – Namibia Food and Allied Workers Union (Nafau) Secretary General Kiros Sackarias (48) has died.

Kiros was the Nafau secretary general, a position in which he served for two consecutive terms until his death on Monday.

National Union of Namibian Workers (NUNW) Secretary General Job Muniaro confirmed his death yesterday.

He said their hearts are saddened and extended his condolences to Sackarias’ family, adding that Nafau’s prayers are with the grieving family.

“Sackarias achieved success in a number of cases. He fought for the rights of employees most of his life,” said Muniaro.

He said he was there simply to support workers. “I was humbled by that gesture and his death will inspire many to deliver better work as a tribute to his memory,” he stated.

“He truly was one of a kind and we are all the poorer for his passing. My deepest sympathies go out to his family and many friends,” he said.
