NALGU secures title sponsorship for the Central Open

NALGU secures title sponsorship for the Central Open

The Namibia Amateur Ladies Golf Union (NALGU) has partnered Nedbank Namibia, securing the title sponsorship for the upcoming Central Open, which will now be officially named the Nedbank Central Ladies Open.

This prestigious event is scheduled to take place at Omeya Golf Club this weekend, aligning with the first leg of the innovative Nedbank Series for Good.

The Nedbank Series for Good is a dynamic initiative designed to grow the game of golf while creating a lasting impact off the fairways.

Focusing on development, inclusivity and social responsibility, the series brings together golfers of all skill levels, empowering communities through sport.

The Nedbank Series for Good will be played in a Stableford format on Saturday, while the Nedbank Central Ladies Open will be a two-day competition, with Round 1 on 8 March and Round 2 on 9 March.

NALGU secretary Tashia Kalondo said 26 players are currently registered, with the goal of surpassing 30 participants.

This highlights the strong enthusiasm and support from Namibia’s women’s golf community.

“We are thrilled to host our first major event under the new NALGU committee, and we are deeply grateful to Nedbank Namibia for their visionary support in empowering female golfers across the country. We also want to recognise Dan Zwiebel of DZ Golf, whose dedication to golf event management plays a key role in maintaining the vibrancy and professionalism of the sport in Namibia,” she said.

To enter, contact Elana Steyn at elana@omeyagolf.com or call 081 583 2545.

Entry fees are N$350 for non-members of Omeya Golf Club (Nedbank Series for Good only), N$580 for both the Nedbank Series for Good and the Nedbank Central Ladies Open.

For enquiries, contact Kalondo at info@nalgu.org or call 081 292 4007.
