Namclear reinforced its commitment to socio-economic development by handing over donations to its 2026 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) beneficiaries at a recent event in Windhoek.

The company’s managing director, Fabian Tait, addressed the invited guests, stating the occasion symbolises more than financial assistance.

“It is about partnership, shared responsibility, and our collective belief in a better Namibia,” he said.

For the 2026 financial year, Namclear allocated a CSR budget of N$755 284, which was distributed among 20 foundations and institutions across the country. The funding is guided by four strategic pillars: education and livelihoods, environmental sustainability, humanitarian welfare, and emergencies and natural disasters.

“As we grow as a business, we are intentional about leaving behind a positive footprint, one that empowers, uplifts, and strengthens the communities around us,” Tait said. Although all institutions are of equal importance, Tait stressed that education and youth development remain central to the program, with support directed towards bursaries, school uniforms, outreach initiatives, and school sports. “By sponsoring sports programs, we are investing in the potential of young Namibians. Sport fosters teamwork, discipline, leadership, and resilience,” he said.

Rising issues such as gender-based violence were also addressed; he highlighted troubling national statistics.

“Approximately four rapes are reported every day. These figures are deeply concerning,” he said, adding that statistics like this motivate Namclear to support initiatives such as the Make A Noise community safety and crime prevention initiative, which focuses on safety amongst Namibian neighborhoods and distributing safety alarms. Environmental initiatives include support for national cleaning projects and the Recycle Namibia Forum, while child protection efforts extend to the Ruach Elohim Foundation, which has saved 49 infants since its founding.

“As the need continues to grow, we are proud to support the expansion of their capacity to provide safe refuge for vulnerable babies,” Tait said.

Additional beneficiaries include Preserving Generations Development Foundation, Pioneers Park Primary School for netball and rugby, Rob Youth Foundation, Windhoek Central Hospital welfare initiatives and feeding programme for charity homes and the homeless.
