WINDHOEK – Diamond mining company, Namdeb, has rewarded the learners of Oranjemund Private School, as well as their teachers, for their exceptional performance in the 2014 Grade 10 and Grade 12 external examinations at regional level.

In 2014, Oranjemund Private School achieved a 93.1 percent pass rate in Grade 10 examinations, and six learners were among the top 10 performers of the //Karas Region. The school also performed exceptionally well in the Grade 12 Higher Level examinations, jumping to 16th position nationally in 2014, from 62nd position in 2013. Furthermore, three of the school’s candidates were among the //Karas Region’s top 10 performers in the Grade 12 Ordinary Level examinations. The three learners are Melanie Feris at number four, Twapewa Ndahangoudja at number seven, and Kabuba Milomo at number nine.

Oranjemund Private School retained the first place in the //Karas Region.

To celebrate the success, Namdeb hosted a dinner for learners, teachers and parents at Oranjemund and presented gifts of appreciation to the six Grade 10 learners who were among the top 10 best performers in the //Karas Region. These are Shanice Angula at number one, Vanessa Iileka (2), Tinus van der Merwe (5), Shannon Alexander (7), Martha Kangulu (8) and Inge Akawa.
