Namdeb Donation Part of Caring for Others

Home Archived Namdeb Donation Part of Caring for Others

By Frederick Philander WINDHOEK The managing director of Namdeb last Wednesday handed a donation of school uniforms, books and writing materials valued at N$5ÃÆ’Æ‘ÀÃ…ÃÆ”šÃ‚ 000 to the Foundation Care Orphanage in Katutura. The donation to eight orphan learners was made possible by the Namdeb Employees Responsibility Fund. “It is important that companies care and share with the less fortunate and under-privileged people in our society. Namdeb is walking its talk, and this is part of its social responsibility. I wish to encourage other companies to do the same,” said Inge Zaamwani at the handing-over ceremony at the Namdeb head office in the capital. According to Zaamwani, there are thousands of under-privileged children who need to be supported. “This donation may sound minute, but it certainly shows that we care about others, something still lacking in the society. Even at our head office, we request employees to contribute towards worthy causes by bringing toys and any other usable materials to give to under-privileged children,” she said. The donation was received on behalf of the foundation by the house mother, Sylvia Taapopi, who thanked Namdeb for the kind gesture.
