The Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (Namfisa) has provided an update on its continued commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and Investment (CSRI) and the positive impact it has had on various communities in Namibia. As part of Namfisa’s CSRI initiatives, the authority has prioritised N$447 239 in support of educational, cultural, and social programmes aimed at uplifting and empowering individuals and communities across the country.
Inlinewithitspursuit of promoting inclusive growth, social well-being, and sustainable development, Namfisa has made significant national contributions to various organisations, schools, councils and initiatives. These contributions are aimed at fostering community development, improving access to education, and supporting local enterprises to create positive change and foster sustainable development in Namibia. Namfisa, as a responsible corporate citizen, plays a meaningful role in society by funding projects and activities that positively contribute to national development in Namibia, said Kenneth Matomola, Namfisa’s Chief Executive Officer.
Namfisa’s CSRI initiatives, guided by its CSRI Policy, prioritises educational initiatives to promote financial literacy and empowers consumers with knowledge to make informed financial decisions, support for sports, arts and culture, addressing general concerns such as health and national issues, and promoting advancements in information communication technology (ICT), particularly Fintech.
Namfisa’s CSRI initiatives continue to create meaningful change in communities across Namibia.
“Namfisa’s generous sponsorship of N$10 000 played a crucial role in the success of our recent prize giving ceremony. Their support allowed us to reward outstanding learners, particularly in Accounting, Economics and Mathematics, many of whom come from underprivileged backgrounds. This recognition is not only a celebration of academic excellence, but also a powerful source of motivation for our youth,” said Laimi Ndeuhala Mbago, spokesperson at Namcol.
“On behalf of the Kids Soup Kitchen, I extend our deepest gratitude to Namfisa for the N$7 000 donation. Thanks to their support, we were able to provide 300 festive gift bags to children in need during our year-end programme. Their commitment to community upliftment is truly inspiring and continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of many,” said Johannes Nghifikepunye, executive chairperson at Kids Soup Kitchen.
