WINDHOEK – Upon conclusion of the TN Mobile African Women’s Championship in Windhoek on Saturday, President of the Namibia Football Association (NFA), John Muinjo, officially passed the Women Championship mantle to Cameroon as hosts of the next edition in 2016.

Hundreds of cheering spectators whon packed the Sam Nujoma Stadium witness the historic moment when Muinjo passed the flag of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to its President Issa Hayatou, who then passed it on to Cameroon’s Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Adoum Garoua to officially authenticate the symbolic handover process.

Previous hosts include Nigeria (1998, 2002, 2006), South Africa (2000, 2004, 2010) and Equatorial Guinea (2008, 2012).
