Namibia ready to meet India in Castle Lite series

Fresh off their T20 World Cup campaign in the West Indies, the Richelieu Eagles are eager to return to action in the Castle Lite series’ clash against India’s Punjab Cricket Association (PCA). 

The two sides will meet at Wanderers Cricket Ground today, Friday, Sunday and next week on Tuesday, and end on Wednesday. 

The five-match one-day series will be a thrilling tournament for the Richelieu Eagles, as well as for Namibian cricket fans, with all matches set to start at 9h00. 

This series offers a crucial opportunity for the Eagles to showcase their skills on home soi,l and deliver high-quality cricket. 

The Richelieu Eagles’ squad boasts an exciting mix of a selected wider pool of 20 players, providing flexibility and depth throughout the series. Notably, several fringe players have earned their call-up, offering a glimpse into the senior men’s cricket setup. 

This will allow Cricket Namibia (CN) to look at some of the younger players in specific roles to build for the future. 

The PCA boasts a formidable 15-man squad, with most players having seasoned experience in the Indian Premier League. This infusion of top-tier talent guarantees a fiercely-competitive series that will entertain cricket fans. 

In a statement, CN extended gratitude to their tournament sponsors.

The Richelieu Eagles squad: Malan Kruger, Lohan Louwrens, Michael van Lingen, Gerhard Erasmus, JC Balt, JP Kotze, Dylan Leicher, PD Blignaut, Junior Kariata, Ben Shikongo, Tangeni Lungameni, Ruben Trumpelmann, Jan Frylinck, JJ Smit, Zacheo van Vuuren, Shaun Fouche, Max Heingo, Zane Green and Alex Volschenk. 

The PCA squad: Naman Dhir, Sanvir Singh, Pukhraj Mann, Gurnoor Singh Brar, Aradhya Shukla, Uday Pratap Saharan, Nehal Wadhera, Harpreet Brar, Ramandeep Singh, Mayank Markande, Jass Inder Singh, Siddharth Kaul, Anmolpreet Singh Prabhsimran Singh and Anmol Malhotra.
