The much-anticipated Namibia Sports Expo 2025, set to run from 31 October to 1 November, was officially launched on Thursday, last week, in Swakopmund under the theme ‘The Gateway to a Healthy Nation.’
The event promises to be a platform that connects sport, wellness and innovation for all Namibians.
Delivering remarks at the launch, Freddy Mwiya, the chief administrator at the Namibia Sports Commission, highlighted the importance of the expo since its inception in 2019.
“This event has become an important annual fixture on our national sporting calendar. It is a collective effort and its success depends on the commitment of government, corporate partners and every citizen,” Mwiya said.
Givean Samulandela, the marketing and public relations officer of the Namibia Sports Commission, underscored the vision for this year’s edition. “The Namibia Sports Expo will serve as a dynamic hub for ideas, resources and innovations aimed at transforming individual choices into national health gains,” he said.
Samulandela further encouraged broader participation from across sectors to ensure shared unity and support in sports.
The 2025 sports expo will showcase interactive fitness zones, health-tech demonstrations, sport-focused workshops, family activities and panel discussions on community sport, education, and workplace wellness.
It also builds on last year’s theme of ‘Athlete Longevity’, which promoted athlete wellness through injury prevention, nutrition, and mental health support.
Namibians and the international community are encouraged to attend the showcase which now stands as a national call to action, uniting sports, health and community in the journey towards a more connected nation.
