Victory… Namibia opened their 2023 Africa World Cup T20 qualifying tournament with a seven-wicket victory over test-playing Zimbabwe at the Wanderers Cricket Ground yesterday. Namibia won the toss and elected to field first, restricting Zimbabwe to 132/7. Namibia chased the target, with opener Nico Davin scoring a career-best 89 runs off just 45 balls as Namibia chased Zimbabwe. The host nation scored 134/3 in 14.4 overs. Namibia currently sits at the top of the log with two points and a net run rate of 2.54. The hosts play Uganda on Friday at the same venue. Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania are the other teams participating in this tournament, where the top two teams will qualify for the finals, scheduled for the USA next year. Photo: Cricket Namibia
