WINDHOEK – The Archery Association of Namibia (AAN) is to dispatch a quartet of archers to compete in the four-day African Championships slated for Luxor, Egypt on 10 October.

The Namibian entourage will be headed by AAN President Frank Bockmühl to the prestigious tourney that includes the 2nd African Open International Tournament.

AAN will send some of its most promising archers, who have all qualified for the tournament through their respective rankings. Among them is Xander Reddig of Tsumeb, the first local archer to have ever competed at the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in China last month.

Although Xander failed to negotiate his way past the first knockout phase in China, the youngster gained invaluable experience that will benefit him now and in the future. He will be the only Namibian to battle it out in the Re-curve division.

The trio of Beanta Viviers, Liezl Schoeman and Elisabeth Taljaard will compete in the Women’s Compound Division.
