Namibian Hair and Beauty Awards debuts

Namibian Hair and Beauty Awards debuts

The Namibian Hair and Beauty Awards recently honoured the country’s outstanding talent in the beauty industry.

Organised by hairstylist Peace Ncube, also known as ‘Nocky’, the event gathered professionals, influencers, and enthusiasts to celebrate excellence across 14 categories, including hairdressers, make-up artists, barbers, and nail technicians.

Nocky, a two-time award-winning hairstylist, explained how the idea came to life.

“While travelling to Namibia after receiving my award in Zambia, I realized we lacked a platform to honour local hair and beauty professionals. It struck me that Namibia needed its own venue to acknowledge the incredible talent in our industry,” she said.

The ceremony, held at the Loft, featured a black and white dress code, adding sophistication to the evening. Attendees arrived in their finest outfits, creating a striking visual display that matched the event’s energetic vibe.

The competition was intense across various beauty professions.

Nominees exhibited skills in hairstyling, barbering, make-up artistry, and nail design. The winners stood out, each receiving their awards to loud applause and standing ovations from the enthusiastic patrons.

“The turnout was incredible; I couldn’t have asked for a better response. The local beauty industry is flourishing, and this is only the beginning. In coming years it will be even bigger and better,” she enthused.

The awards ceremony was more than a recognition event; it celebrated the artistry, passion, and innovation within Namibia’s beauty community, Ncube said.
