WINDHOEK– Elizabeth Mununga Mbambi and Lillian Jo-ann Van Wyk have been selected as contestants in the Australian reality television show “this is your life change” on Fiji Island.

They are among  50  contenders  from among 3500 around the world who have excelled to the semifinal. The 27-year- old duos are the only contenders selected from Africa and will compete against 48 people from other countries. Only six will be selected to qualify for the finals to chase the grand prize of U$200, 000 which is aboutN$2,000 000. Next they are required to produce a paragraph summary of their secrete dreams, along with a two minute video of them introducing the secret dream and should be uploaded on YouTube with the link emailed to the sponsors.

Mbambi is from Rundu and is currently an assurance broker at Neoplan and has previously worked for Standard Bank Namibia. According to her, she aspires to see less privileged women become successful in their endeavours in all spheres of life by empowering them to do best in whatever their heart tells them. Further, she wishes to be a history marker than history reader.

Van Wyk, from Lüderitz, says once she wins the money, she wants to build an alcohol and drug facility that will assist addicted teenagers and adults in Lüderitz. This has been her long term dream.  She adds that the facility will have a psychologist and a life coach to equip them for a better life. She further aims to build a marine vocational facility that can educate Grade 12 students whose parents cannot afford to take them to university

Three of the final six will be selected by the judges based on showing how much they would wish  to be on this island while the remaining three will by public vote. The organisers will open Facebook pages and Tweeter accounts for  all the 50 contestants where the public can do the voting. The show is a brainchild of Mark Bowness, an Australian national, who have previously produced a documentary “Paradise” in 2008, which was filmed in an eco-community of Vorovoro on the Fiji island. The new reality show will be filmed on the same island as well. The contestants have until  May 30 to prove themselves.
