Team Namibia and the Polytechnic of Namibia’s FABlab hosted the first session where entrepreneurs had a chance to pitch their business ideas to a group of Namibian companies in the hope of getting financial injection, mentorship and other forms of assistance. The session modelled on the popular BBC television programme ‘Dragon’s Den’, which took place on Wednesday in Windhoek, saw 12 entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to a group consisting of Agra, Business Partners, Stimulus Investments, Namibia Trade Forum, Environment Investment Fund, Ministry of Industrialisation, Trade and SME Development and the Namibia Commission for Research, Science and Technology. All 12 entrepreneurs walked away with a variety of mentorship programmes, capital injection, as well assistance with marketing, promotion. Team Namibia says it would host three similar events over the coming quarters of the year. In the photo are representatives of the institutions and ministries who evaluated the business ideas pitched.
