Namibia’s participation in the upcoming Southern Africa Regional Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (SARPCCO) Games received a much-needed boost yesterday when local businessman and owner of Grand Master Printing, Eliaser Ndimulunde, donated 200 bags, worth N$15,000 to members of the NamPol team.
Approximately 200 officers will represent Namibia at the games. Ndimulunde said he was excited to be associated with the NamPol team, adding he is confident the Namibian team will return home with good results.
The games will be held in Swaziland from July 20 to August 3 and brings together police officers from SADC countries.
The Games commenced in July 1990 when police chiefs from all Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries came together in Swakopmund and adopted Resolution 14, which identified the need for advancement in regional policing cooperation.
During the 2011 Games, held in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Namibian Police Force team finished second place. Namibia hosted the SARPCCO Games in 2013.
