Upcoming boxing sensation and national champion, Flame ‘Special One’ Nangolo called out seasoned boxer Natty Kakololo for a fight after he secured his second round Technical Knockout against Johnny Herman at NamPower Convention Centre on Saturday.
“I am tired. People are tired of watching me fight boxers that are not on my level, I know there are so many good boxers in the country who are on my level, and we can set it up and have great bouts where everyone would make money,” he said.
Nangolo said there are many good boxers at MTC Nestor Sunshine Academy, but none of them were willing to fight him.
“I am calling out Kakololo, we need to make this fight happen and I think it’s a must happen fight,” he added.
Nangolo didn’t sweat in his Saturday bout, which saw him take his winning tally to 10 fights and 10 wins.
It was the main bout for the night and from the onset, Nangolo was in pole position as he dominated from the get go landing several shots that sent his opponent to the ground three times in the first round.
In the second round, Special One continued his dominance as he piled pressure on Herman by landing continuous punches that saw the referee end the bout.
Speaking at the event, he also said he didn’t think the bout was going to be that short as he misread his opponent.
“I didn’t think the bout will last that short but obviously it showed that I am a better boxer than he is, and my skills aided me in making sure the bout is short lived,” he said.
Meanwhile, his trainer Imms Moses thanked boxing fans for coming out to support the development of the sport.
“We do this without a proper budget and without the fans who buy tables, we couldn’t have pulled this one off. We are grateful as you ensure that the kids are well developed, it’s all we want and we ask corporates to come on board and make sure we groom more boxers,” he added.
In the main supporting bout, Hedison Nghipondoka lived up to his words as he defeated AC Boxing prodigy, Rehabeam Usko by a majority decision.
In another bout, Okahandja’s finest Ruan Rispel came out on top as he defeated his opponent Sakaria Kandjambanga by a unanimous decision.
In the lightweight four rounder, Hafeni Ngesheya also defeated Steven Shilomboleni by a TKO while Jonathan Kasheeta also secured a victory against Tobias Amunyela in the flyweight division.
Salom Petrus who fought in the super lightweight defeated Andreas Endjala by a unanimous decision.
