Nangolo vs Lawal fight postponed

Nangolo vs Lawal fight postponed

The highly anticipated WBO Super Featherweight Championship bout between Namibia’s own Flame “Special one” Nangolo and Nigeria’s Rowan Lawal, originally scheduled for this weekend, has officially been postponed to 13 September.

The decision to move the fight was made in the interest of ensuring optimal promotion and support for both this event and another major upcoming bout.

AC Boxing Promotions Immanuel ‘AC’ Moses said the big fight last weekend featuring Namibian boxer, Fillipus ‘Energy’ Nghitumbwa who won the WBO Global title, deserves attention and celebration.

“As a close-knit boxing community, we want to give him our full attention and support. We also believe Nangolo’s title fight deserves the same energy and spotlight, so allowing a little more time between the events gives us the chance to properly market the upcoming fight.

“The rescheduled date will allow organisers, partners and media outlets to build greater momentum and deliver a world-class experience for boxing fans across the region and beyond.

All tickets purchased for the original 16 August date will remain valid for 13 September.

More information regarding the venue and fight card will be announced in the coming days.

“We thank our fans, sponsors and the boxing community for their continued support and understanding,” added Moses.
