Nangombe retains health ED position

Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila has announced the reappointment of Ben Nangombe as the executive director of the Ministry of Health and Social Services.

He was reappointed for four and a half years starting from 1 August 2023.

In a media statement on Monday, the secretary to Cabinet George Simataa said the appointment was made on the recommendation of the Public Service Commission, in accordance with section 5(1) read in conjunction with section 19(A)(1) of the Public Service Act 13 of 1995.

In addition, Martha Mbombo has been appointed as the executive director of the Ministry of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare for a period of one year and two months, starting on 1 April 2023.

Mbombo possesses qualifications in health personnel education, business leadership, nursing science, and business administration. 

“She currently serves as the deputy executive director in the same ministry and has over 15 years of management experience in the public service,” Simataa said.

Moreover, Annely Haiphene has also been reappointed as the executive director of the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources for a fixed-term contract of five years starting from 1 August 2023.

These appointments were also made on the recommendation of the Public Service Commission.
