Home Art Life National Ceramic Biennale kicks off on Thursday

WINDHOEK-The National Ceramic Biennale to kick off from the 3rd – 30 October 2013 at the National Art Gallery of Namibia (NAGN).

The Biennale, which is organized by The Potter’s Association of Namibia (PAN), also forms part of the Bank Windhoek Art Festival (BWAF) October Programme, will provide art enthusiasts with quality art events during October.

It has become an important, as well as an exciting event on the Namibian potters’ calendar, as it is the only exhibition organized in two years cycle where awards and prize are given to the best in the industry.

All Namibian PAN members or non-member, are invited to take part in this exhibition. Potters who would like to participate, but are not members, can now join PAN and save on the entry fee.

Members receive the National Quarterly Ceramics Magazine, published by the Ceramics Southern Africa Association, to whom PAN is affiliated. Members can participate in workshops offered in South Africa at members’ rates.

The artworks will only be submitted on Sunday, 29 September 2013 from 09:00 to 12:00 at the NAGN. Judges are Catherine Brennon from South Africa and Cathy McRoberts from Windhoek and they will judge the artworks on Monday, 30 September 2013.

Carola Lorck, Executive Chairperson of PAN said, “Bank Windhoek has always been there for us over the years and we are grateful for their continued support and their confidence in PAN to host this prestigious event.”
