Swakopmund
Namibia’s veteran professional golfer Joe Nawanga showed class and determination to claim the prestigious Rossmund golf championship at the Rossmund Golf Course, Swakopmund, recently. Overall winner Nawanga posted 68 gross to finish two shots ahead of second-placed Ruan Huysamen on 70 gross, with Roux Jeffrey adrift in 3rd place, a distant five shots off the pace at 73 gross. Edwin Kutara closed the day on 76 for an overall fourth place. Thomas Shitaleni was the overall winner on 69 leaving T Shinednima to pick up the pieces for second spot in the A division, while Likius Nande on 72 gross was the runner-up tailed by D Haimbodi (79) and M Polster in that order. Victory in the c/I division went to H. Namene with S Ndalumbumo claiming second spot, while S Ndalumbumo clinched the B division with 86 gross followed by A. Bonifatius, W.Theron (87) and L. Kangandjela (94). T. Gurirab came out victorious in the C division on 112 gross tailed by H.N Abraham c/o, I Shikongo (123) and S Masipa (125) in that sequence. Lone rancher Hansina Hinda claimed the ladies division.
