The chief executive officer of the Namibian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI), Titus Nampala, has called for stronger collaboration between business, government, and civil society to drive inclusive economic transformation in Namibia.

Speaking to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Economy and Industry, Public Administration, and Planning in Swakopmund, Nampala presented a revitalised vision for the Chamber that would strengthen its position as Business Namibia’s reliable and powerful voice.

“We have a clear mission,” Nampala said. “Across business, government, and civil society, we are strengthening trust and boosting brand credibility. The Chamber needs to be viewed as a catalyst for equitable economic reform in addition to serving as a convener”.

Nampala emphasised that the goal of the chamber’s new strategy is to guarantee that all members, from big businesses to MSMEs, are empowered and represented.

“We have the same objective in mind. Let’s collaborate. The chamber is here to ensure our policy environment reflects the realities on the ground and to give every Namibian business, no matter how big or small, a voice.”

Nampala says Namibia needs to maintain its competitiveness on a worldwide scale while making sure its policies are still applicable locally. NCCI is pushing for reforms that keep up with national, regional, and international dynamics because of its impressive success in industries like mining, finance, agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism.

“Namibia must be a destination where Namibian businesspeople prosper and where foreign investors discover opportunities.” He added: “We are creating a chamber that leads, listens, and delivers.”

Nampala reiterated NCCI’s backing for the government’s Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Policy, stating it has the potential to revolutionise the creation of jobs, income, and skills transfer.

“We need to make public-private collaborations stronger. This is about creating a resilient, inclusive economy, not simply about infrastructure,” he said, adding that by sharing risk and encouraging innovation, PPPs allow the public and private sectors to jointly invest in vital infrastructure like power, water, highways, and telecommunications.

According to Nampala, the NCCI is dedicated to fostering an atmosphere favourable to all types of enterprises. This entails advancing reforms in line with the National Development Plan, assisting corporations, and encouraging the inclusion of MSMEs.

“No Namibian should be left behind,” he emphasised. “SMEs are the heartbeat of inclusive growth. We must co-create solutions that generate sustainable, decent jobs and unlock opportunity at every level.”

In order to shape Namibia’s economic destiny, the CEO urged Parliament and the larger corporate sector to adopt a collaborative mindset.

“We are not adversaries. We are allies. The chamber stands ready to support and build. Together, we can shape a future where policy, investment, and innovation work hand in hand,” he said.

As the national business community’s umbrella organisation, the NCCI promotes reforms, fosters communication, and makes sure Namibia’s economic transformation program benefits all industries.
