NCS maintain strong run in the MTC NNPL …Khomas Super 10 resumes

The defending champions of the MTC Netball Namibia Premier League (NNPL), Namibia Correctional Services (NCS), continued their impressive performance by defeating Afrocat Lions 52-33 on Saturday at the Khomasdal stadium in the capital.

At the same venue, newly-promoted Unam Jaguars pulled off a surprise victory over Tigers, winning by 35-38. NCS’s Saturday win solidified their position at the top of the league with 24 points from 13 matches. Namibia Navy remains in second place with 22 points from 11 matches, while Mighty Gunners comfortably hold third place with 15 points from 11 games.

NCS head coach Salomon Tuaire expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance, attributing the win to teamwork, and acknowledging the intensifying competition in the league.

“We went into Saturday’s match focused on collecting points, and that’s what we did. It was not an easy match, but due to teamwork on the court, we managed to secure maximum points. It’s going to be a tough season, as every team is fighting for points,” he said.

Unam Jaguars’ coach Augusta Mbai also expressed satisfaction with her team’s resilience in securing an upset against Tigers.  “It was a challenging match, but we came into it determined to win and collect points, and that’s what we did. Thanks to the players and technical team for working together. We have always aimed to turn the tide in the second leg of the season, as every team is fighting to win the league or avoid relegation. Today, we managed to come out victorious, and we look forward to our next encounter,” she added.
