Namibia’s WBO Africa middleweight champion Lukas ‘The Demolisher’ Ndafoluma and WBO Africa flyweight champion Immanuel Josef will both return to the ring next month to defend their respective titles.
The MTC Salute Boxing Academy yesterday announced that both boxers will be the main attractions at their upcoming ‘Building Champions’ Boxing Bonanza, which will take place at the Windhoek Country Club on 11 December 2021.
Ndafoluma, who boasts a record of 20 wins and three losses from 24 fights in the paid ranks, is set to defend his title against South Africa’s Nkululeko ‘The Bulldog’ Mhlongo, who comes into the fight with a record of 22 wins, 32 fights, nine losses and one draw from 32 bouts.
Josef will seek to continue with his new found winning streak when he squares off against Tanzania’s Muhsin Kizota, who is determined to wrestle the title away from the Namibian. Josef has 12 wins and four losses from 17 fights, while his Tanzanian opponent holds a record of 12 wins and two losses from 15 fights.
Speaking at yesterday’s announcement, Ndafoluma said the year is coming to an end and the festive season is fast approaching, he plans to defend his title in top style and with great precision.
“Come the 11th of December, I’ll do what I do best and boxing is what I know best. Not only will I win the bout, but I will do it in style. I plan to finish the fight in the first rounds. I have got bigger dreams of fighting for a world title, not only to be a champion in Africa,” said the veteran Ndafoluma.
Meanwhile, Josef said it will be the first time defending his title and he harbours no plans of relinquishing his hard-earned title to Kizota.
“I am excited about this bout and I believe I am ready to go. I have been preparing well and I have a good sparring partner. I am not going to let my title be taken away from me in my country, I brought it from afar and I want it to remain here,” he confidently said.
Tickets for the bonanza, which will also see a great number of some of the country’s top rising stars in action on the night, are priced at N$200 and a table seating 10 people will go for N$15 000.
