Nedbank Cycle Challenge 2025 set for this weekend

The Nedbank Cycle Challenge is set to take place this Sunday.

The registration and number collection for the race will be on Saturday at the Nedbank Campus, located on the corner of Fidel Castro and Rev. Michael Scott Street from 14h00 to 16h00.

Dubbed ‘The Greatest Ride Under the Sun’, the race will commence on Sunday morning at 07h00 from the Nedbank Campus.

Participants will tackle distances of 20 kilometres (km), 30km, 60km or 100km.

They will finish in front of Zoo Park on Independence Avenue.

Nedbank Namibia executive for retail and business banking JG van Graan said “Nedbank Namibia has been a proud supporter of cycling in Namibia, contributing significantly to the growth and development of the sport. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better,
with meticulous preparations ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants”.

He added that “as money experts, who do good, we are thrilled to have this edition of the Nedbank Cycle Challenge, and continue our commitment to promoting cycling in Namibia.

“Our team has worked tirelessly to ensure that this event is well-organised and memorable for all participants. We believe in the power of sport to bring communities together and inspire healthy lifestyles”.

Gerhard Breed from the Windhoek Pedal Power Road Cycling Club and organiser of the Nedbank Cycle Challenge said they have seen the event grow from strength to strength over the years.

“The progression of the Nedbank Cycle Challenge has been remarkable. Each year, we see new and returning participants take on the challenge with enthusiasm. We are excited to see what 2025 holds, and confident that this will be our best event yet,” he added.

The Nedbank Cycle Challenge 2025 is co-sponsored by Coca Cola Namibia and the Namibian Health Plan (NHP).
