The annual Nedbank Cycle Challenge has been postponed to February 2025.
Nedbank Namibia announced this yesterday, saying their initial decision to postpone the race in February this year was made in the wake of the untimely passing of former president Hage G. Geingob on 4 February 2024, and for the solemn observation of both the period of national mourning and Geingob’s timeless legacy.
“We were hopeful of rescheduling the race for 21 April 2024. However, the increasing logistical demands of our commitment to the extensive array of sponsored cycling races, including national and international races hosted locally, coupled with the commencement of our other logistics-heavy sponsorship properties like the Nedbank Kapana Cook-Off and Nedbank for Good Series, compromises our intent to host a peerless Nedbank Cycle Challenge quite significantly.
“The necessary teams have been engaged to ensure a smooth logistical process of refunding cyclists who had initially entered the Nedbank Cycle Challenge and furnish information on the new date in February 2025,” reads a statement from the bank.
