The Nedbank for Good Series has wrapped up its coastal leg in style, delivering three competitive and well-supported tournaments at Henties Bay Golf and Lifestyle Estate, Rossmund Golf Course, and Walvis Bay Golf Club.
Action teed off on 16 August at Henties Bay Golf and Lifestyle Estate, where a husband-and-wife duo stole the spotlight. Elrico Janse van Rensburg clinched the men’s division with a strong 41 points, while his wife Nicolene topped the women’s field. Their victories set the tone for a lively stretch of golf at the coast.
A week later, Rossmund Golf Course welcomed 62 players for round 11. Joost Schneider emerged the standout performer with 42 points, comfortably securing the men’s title. In the women’s competition, Brenda Lens claimed the top spot ahead of Gaby Adams and Justine Shikulo.
The coastal swing culminated at Walvis Bay Golf Club last Saturday, drawing an impressive 67-player field. The men’s division produced fireworks, with Wishes Nyoni and Eugene Slippers both finishing on 44 points, but Nyoni edging ahead on count-in. Last year’s women’s champion, Estelle Botha, proved her consistency by defending her title well.
Reflecting on the turnout, series organiser Dan Zwiebel said the response at the coast underlined the growth of golf in Namibia. “The coastal leg of the Nedbank for Good Series was a resounding success. The turnout at all three venues was fantastic and a testament to the growth of golf in Namibia,” he noted.
The series now heads inland for its final Windhoek leg before the grand finale at Omeya Golf Club, where winners from all 13 rounds will battle for the 2025 title.
Beyond competition, the Nedbank for Good Series has become one of Namibia’s leading charity golf events, raising funds for community causes. This year’s proceeds will support Agra ProVision, which provides training and services to underserved agricultural communities.
