WINDHOEK – Following the successful hosting of the annual Independence Boxing Bonanza in Windhoek recently, the MTC Nestor Sunshine Boxing and Fitness Academy was impressed with the way the boxers acquitted themselves.
“Our boxers put on a good display and we are very happy. Their opponents were quite tough but persevered. Our strategy is to make our boxers fight against the best because that is the only way you can prepare them for tougher fights. I am happy with the way things turned out,” reads a statement from Nestor Tobias, head of the MTC Sunshine Academy.
Besides, “the fact that people came out to enjoy themselves watching quality world-class bouts, proves once again that boxing is the most attractive sport in Namibia,” Tobias further said.
According to Tobias, Immanuel “Prince” Naidjala and Bethuel “Tyson’ Uushona made very good comebacks, which is likely to boost their confidence for their next fights. While Knockout specialist, Walter “The Executioner” once again demonstrated what he is made of and certainly has a bright future ahead of him and Julius “Blue Machine” Indongo did what he does best by winning the WBO Africa title.
“We are in the process of securing a rematch for Paulus ‘The Hitman’ Moses, so that is definitely on the cards. Things did not go our way on the night but that is the irony of boxing, we have no doubt that he is a world-class fighter and still have a lot of confidence in his boxing abilities and its just a matter of time before he reclaims his WBO International title.”
