Networking over kapana and wine

Networking over kapana and wine

The Lovers and Friends Wine Club, in collaboration with Dolce&Kapana street food, recently hosted a wine-tasting event under the theme ‘Let’s Wine and Kapana’.  Hosted at the Shisha Shine Car Wash last Saturday, the event offered unlimited wine and kapana (small chunks of beef grilled on an open fire) to every individual in attendance.

Organiser and founder of the Lovers and Friends Wine Club, Silas Malima, said they do not have any specific winery or wine brands that they work with at the moment, nor did they have any sponsor for the event last weekend.

“The wines that were on offer were exclusively handpicked to complement the flavours of the kapana, spices and salsa,” he noted, adding that plans to get certain wine brands on board are in the pipeline.

He said the event was their first collaborative endeavour with Joe Shafa Erkkie of Dolce&Kapana, which they are very excited about, and hope to make it a regular occurrence for kapana and wine lovers.

The next event is scheduled to take place next month on a date still to be announced.

Tempo mesmerised guests with his rendition of various music covers while playing his acoustic guitar.  Apart from enjoying the kapana, which was served elegantly with salsa and a vetkoek, patrons found the event to be a great platform for networking while sipping on some wine.

They were satisfied with the well-organised event, and requested organisers to look into creating a database so they never miss out on future wine and kapana events. rshikulo@nepc.com.na
