By Frederick Philander WINDHOEK Orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) are to benefit from yet another gala dinner planned for the end of next month and an arts festival next year. This was said by the proprietor of a local entertainment company known as Toucy Image Creation Namibia Art Festival, Toucy Tjijombo, who resides in New York and is now on a three-month working holiday in the country. “My profound love for orphaned and vulnerable children as well as my concern for the destitute in the society, has inspired me to organise the gala evening through which I hope to raise at least N$200ÃÆ’Æ‘ÀÃ…ÃÆ”šÃ‚ 000 for charity. The planned festival for next year will feature invited American as well as Namibian musicians,” said Tjijombo. She said her mother runs her own child day care centre on a farm in the Omaheke Region. A number of well-known public figures will be involved in the project through which local companies will be pragmatically activated to contribute towards the worthy cause. “Tickets for the gala evening, at which framed photographs of historic figures will be auctioned, are already on sale at N$450 as a token of recognition to the freedom struggle as well as the business fraternity of the country. This is long overdue,” she claimed. People interested in supporting the event can contact Toucy on: 0812555782.
