Ngandu TV lauded for boosting artists

Ngandu TV lauded for boosting artists

Afro-pop and RnB sensation Tekla Iita, better known by her stage name Teqla, expressed a passionate belief that the future of Namibian artists depends on creating more platforms where they can freely showcase their creativity.

With a demand for diverse and authentic musical expressions, Teqla’s vision for an industry where talent is truly exposed and nurtured promises to spark a much-needed transformation.

The ‘Ohole’ hitmaker is now turning her attention to a crucial issue within the music industry – accessibility.

“I am grateful to Ngandu TV for the opportunity to be featured on the platform because it has been a long time since I participated in a production of this scale. The experience was invaluable, allowing me to learn and grow as an artist,” she said at an exclusive premiere for the latest episode of ‘Rock The Boat’ in Windhoek last week.

The event was hosted at the Franco Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC) and attended by creatives, communication professionals and brand managers from various companies.

Ngandu Events is a leading events and production company, with most of its operations based in Rundu. The company is known for organising the annual Ngandu Festival, and through its production arm, is responsible for producing ‘Rock The Boat’.

Teqla’s career started in 2005 when her soothing and powerful voice was rendered in Sunny Boy’s ‘Serious’ song, which was lifted from his debut Young, Black and Gifted album.

As part of the event, a live podcast recording was conducted, hosted by media personality Jemimah Ndembele. The session featured the Rock The Boat production team, who provided insights into the making of the Teqla episode.

“The production team consists of Andreas Gustav and Lydia Nirvana, with Mabuku Rubben serving as the director and Nahenda Matheus as the fashion stylist. Exquisite By Ludisha also rendered her service as a make-up artist, again signifying the importance of collaboration in the creative space,” stated the production team.

The highly-anticipated episode was scheduled for release this past weekend on Ngandu TV’s YouTube channel.
