OSHAKATI – The 33-year-old man who stands accused of raping his 104-year-old aunt at Ohongo village in the Omusati region, was remanded in custody after making a brief court appearance at Outapi on Tuesday.

Omusati Police commander Ismael Basson told Nampa the accused was denied bail and the matter was postponed to 17 February 2024.

According to Basson, the accused allegedly committed the crime on several occasions between 2023 and 24 September 2024. He allegedly entered the victim’s sleeping room on those occasions and raped her.

Investigations continue.
