NQA to host information session for high school learners

NQA to host information session for high school learners

The Namibian Qualifications Authority (NQA) together with the Khomas Regional Council’s Directorate of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture and the #BeFree Youth Campus, will host an information session for high school learners.

According to a joint statement released on Friday, the three-day information session and career guidance event is slated to take place from 16-18 July 2025 at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek.

The Minister of Education, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture Sanet Steenkamp is expected to officially open the event under the theme ‘Future Ready: Charting Paths to Success and Opportunity’.

“The objective of this initiative is to provide high school learners with credible, accurate information, and to empower them about accredited educational opportunities, including all pathways for further education, higher education, and technical and vocational education and training (TVET),” it read.

It further said the session is intended for Grade 9, NSSCO and NSSCAS learners, and it targets to arm over 3 000 learners from schools in the Khomas Region with vital insights into the space of higher education, skills development and career planning.

The statement proceeded to say that it is essential for learners to grasp aspects of accreditation of institutions before engaging in the process of applying for further studies, calling on Grade 9 learners to take part in the event.
“The NQA, #BeFree Youth Campus and the Khomas Regional Directorate of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture are encouraging schools to release Grade 9, NSSCO and NSSCAS candidates to participate during this year’s event,” it said.
