NSX recognised at Global Banking and Finance Awards

The Namibia Securities Exchange (NSX) has been recognised as the Most Innovative Securities Exchange, Southern Africa 2025 under the Innovation Awards category of the Global Banking and Finance Awards 2025, an international awards programme conducted by Global Banking and Finance Review.

According to a statement from Tjiundja Kazohua, Chief Regulatory Officer at the Namibia Securities Exchange, the Global Banking and Finance Awards recognise excellence, innovation, and leadership across the global financial services industry, including banking, capital markets, investment services, ESG and sustainability, and financial innovation.

“The awards highlight institutions that demonstrate visionary strategies, strong performance, and meaningful contributions to the development of financial markets. This recognition reflects the NSX’s continued focus on innovation, market development, and the strengthening of Namibia’s financial market infrastructure, including initiatives aimed at enhancing market accessibility, efficiency, and resilience,” she said. The NSX chief executive officer, Tiaan Bazuin, noted that, in the review process, it was clear that the modernisation of the Bond market, with the launch of its own dedicated trading system for best price matching and the launch of the Central Securities Depository, was seen as a milestone toward a modern, well-regulated market. “The NSX extends its appreciation to Global Banking and Finance Review for the recognition, and to its stakeholders, market participants, and staff for their continued support and dedication,” he said. Namibia Securities Exchange was established to support the country’s transition to an independent economy. It was established in 1992, following the diamond rush that brought prospectors to the region.
