WINDHOEK – The National Unity Democratic Organisation (Nudo) and Congress of Democrats (CoD) will on Saturday launch their respective election manifestos.
Nudo will launch its manifesto in Okakarara while the CoD launch will take place in the capital, at Greenwell Matongo in Katutura.
Nudo Deputy Scretary General, Vetaruhe Kandorozu, said that after the launch the party would roll out its campaign in all 14 regions.
“The party will launch a massive campaign in all 14 regions and teams will be divided among all the regions with tested cadres to address rallies,” he said.
Kandorozu called on party members and sympathisers to attend the launch in big numbers so that they can hear the message from the horse’s mouth.
He also used the opportunity to congratulate the party’s 96 members who were elected at the party’s electoral college last weekend.
“The electoral college was a great success, it was conducted in a transparent manner where all the members participated freely,” he said.
He added that the party’s acting president Asser Mbai would address all the star rallies and other sensitive party meetings, along with influential and strategic people.
“We have allocated topics according to other dynamics of challenges facing our people in their respective regions,” he said, adding that voters would see a different Nudo this year.
He said the party’s main aim is to be the official opposition this year as a stepping stone to win the trust of the electorate “before we run for state office by 2019”.
“This year we need a complimentary vote from every Namibian as a message of condolence for our late party president Kuaima Riruako,” he said.
