WINDHOEK – Former Swapo acting regional coordinator in Omaheke Region, Job Munjaro, has been temporarily appointed as the acting general secretary of the National Union of Namibian Workers (NUNW) to replace the suspended Alfred Angula.
Munjaro confirmed his appointment to New Era yesterday saying the umbrella union’s executive committee took the decision last week. “Yes I have been appointed as the acting general secretary, a decision taken by the executive committee meeting held last week,” he confirmed. Munjaro also serves as deputy secretary general of the NUNW. According to Munjaro he will be acting until the outcome of the case against Angula.
Angula was last month charged with the embezzlement of more than N$1.2 million of donor funds allocated to Nafwu (Namibian Farmworkers Union) during his tenure as Nafwu secretary general.
Munjaro is a former Swapo district mobiliser for Omaheke Region a position he held for more than ten years, and served as the Swapo regional coordinator for Omaheke for more than a year before becoming the deputy secretary general of the NUNW.
