WINDHOEK — The Okakarara Trade Fair is in full swing with over 170 local exhibitors showcasing their goods and services, according to John Uazukuani, director of the agricultural section and coordinator of the trade fair.

There are also new exhibitors from Zimbabwe and South Africa, while over 400 small stock and 300 cattle are to be exhibited in the agricultural section, which is one of the biggest attractions to the fair.

Uazukuani said the fair has recorded between 1000 to 1500 visitors to the venue since doors opened on Tuesday this week.

“There is a lot of excitement,” he said, adding that it is especially an eye-opener for school learners to see hand-made goods and new technology.

Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Tjekero Tweya, will officially open the Okakarara Trade Fair today [Friday September 05] along with other speakers including the Okakarara Mayor, John Viakando and chairperson of the Okakarara Trade Fair, Elia Kandjii.

Artists such as Bullet, Ben Mutjangatjike, Rakutuka Kandjoze, Mistake and Ongoronomundu would entertain the crowds during the trade fair that closes on September 06.
