O&L appoints Swart-Opperman to OLFITRA board

The Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group has appointed Christina Swart-Opperman as a non-executive director on the OLFITRA board, effective 1 April 2025.

She has been an integral part of the O&L Family since 2016, serving as chairperson of the OLFITRA Remuneration and Nomination Committee (REMCO).

Her leadership has played a pivotal role in shaping the group’s remuneration philosophy, ensuring fairness, strategic alignment and excellence in talent management.

O&L described Swart-Opperman as a trailblazer in Namibia’s business landscape.

She established the country’s first human resources consulting practice, making history as the first female partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC). Her impact extends far beyond the corporate world.

Her passion for social upliftment is evident through the Christina Swart-Opperman Aids Orphan Foundation Trust, which has transformed many lives. Her PhD research on innovation and team dynamics highlights her expertise in business strategy, leadership and people development.

Sven Thieme, O&L Group executive chairman and chairperson of the OLFITRA board of directors, said “Swart-Opperman’s appointment is a testament to O&L’s commitment to strong leadership, sustainable business practices and purpose-driven stakeholder engagement. We are confident that her wealth of knowledge, experience and passion will further strengthen our O&L personal characteristics of being authentic, caring and passionate”.

“We warmly congratulate her on this well-deserved appointment, and look forward to her continued impact within the O&L family,” he said.
