OSHAKATI – A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her uncles aged 28 and 36 at Iilambo village in the Okahao constituency of Omusati region.

The Namibian Police Force ‘sregional commander for Omusati, Commissioner Ismael Basson, told Nampa on Saturday the alleged incident took place on a number of occasions at unknown dates this year.

“The suspects, both uncles of the victim, reside in the same house with her, and allegedly raped the girl on various occasions,” he said, adding that the matter was reported to the police by a social worker, who was informed of the rape by the victim’s parents.

Basson said the 36-year-old suspect was arrested, while the 28-year-old suspect is still at large.
Police investigations into the matter are continuing. –Nampa
