‘Once Upon a Time in Africa – Tumbuktu’ to be screened this weekend

AfricAvenir, FNCC and HISA proudly present the children’s movie, Once Upon a Time in Africa – Timbuktu, on Saturday (October 3) at the Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC)’s Cinema at 10h00 in the morning. Entrance is N$5 for children and N$15 for adults.

The film centres on four kids, who travel back in time to fulfil a secret mission in the ancient city of Timbuktu and will be screened as part of the series: ‘Inspiring Young Imaginations – African Films for Children and Youth’.
Next Friday, October 10, at 14h00 in the afternoon it will be screening at the Hope Institute of South Africa (HISA Community Centre at Erf 3316, Omuvapu Street, Okuruyangava) and entrance is free.

Once Upon A Time in Africa is an animated educational show that takes its viewers on an exciting journey through African history before colonisation. The show follows the adventures of four bright kids from the four corners of the continent (Chep from Kenya, Thandi from South Africa, Dudu from Senegal, and Omar from Egypt), as they travel back in time to fulfil a secret mission: revive the fading knowledge of Africa’s ancient past by experiencing the continents’ major historical events, colourful cultures and sophisticated civilisations. In this first episode the kids travel to the ancient city of Timbuktu.
