Ondangwa to relocate 42 households

Ondangwa to relocate 42 households

Auleria Wakudumo

ONDANGWA – The Ondangwa Town Council has identified a new location for the bunch of 42 households that remained at Uutala location.

The town’s spokesperson Petrina Shitalangaho-Mutisha said the 42 households are part of a larger group of 564 that were moved to Onatsi Proper and Onatsi Ext 1 locations in 2018.

“The remaining households were unable to relocate at that time due to insufficient space at Onatsi,” Mutikisha stated.

Mutikisha added that the new location, to be known as Omashaka Proper, will accommodate approximately 231 households and is already connected to water and electricity.

“They have been staying in the area without proper demarcated areas, unable to construct conventional homes and without water and electricity,” Mutikisha added.

She added that the area from which the council is relocating these households is designated for business development.

This move will enable the people to access all municipal services and register the plots in their names.

Uutala location in Ondangwa Ext 7 is situated behind the newly constructed Government Institutions Pension Fund and Northern Regional Electricity Distributor’s head offices.
