Opening the seventh Ongwediva Trade Fair on Saturday, President Hifikepunye Pohamba urged Namibian entrepreneurs, especially the small and medium business entrepreneurs, to forge ties of cooperation in the manufacturing, trade and retail sectors with their counterparts from different countries represented at the fair.

The Namibian Government has on numerous occasions pledged its support for the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and during its Medium Term Expenditure Framework for the financial year 2005/06 to 2007/08 has allocated N$100 million for the development of the sector.

The annual trade fair has made great strides as a viable platform for the promotion of investment opportunities, trade and marketing of services and products.

It has also exposed businessmen and women to wider markets, new technologies and modern methods of production.

This year’s theme of the trade fair is “Buying locally made products”, with a display of various products produced in the country.

As a main sponsor to the trade fair, MTC invested an amount of N$350??????’?????’?????????????
