OSHAKATI – The third edition of the Oshuungu Annual Football Tournament has been set for 26-28 December 2023.
Tournament coordinator Petrus Hamukwaya told Nampa on Wednesday that teams have already started to register for the event.
According to Hamukwaya, an amount of N$20 000 has been put up for grabs.
The winner of the tournament will walk away with N$10 000, a floating trophy, and gold medals.
The second runner-up will receive N$5 500 and silver medals, and the third-place winner will get N$3 500 and bronze medals.
Hamukwaya indicated that the tournament is open to all.
“The objective of the tournament is to keep young people constructively engaged in productive community affairs that will improve their skills, social well-being, talent development, and capacity to be active citizens of Namibia through sports,” he said.
He added that they want to inspire the minds of community members to foster unity and social belonging.
