Outapi readies for youth expo

Outapi is set to host its first SME Youth Expo, an event designed to showcase the talents and entrepreneurial spirit of young Namibians. Scheduled to run from 3 to 6 October this year, it promises to be a significant platform for young people across the country.

Supported by Izzy Cranes Namibia, it will offer young entrepreneurs the chance to display their products and services free of charge. With registration open until 5 September, the event aims to bring together innovative minds and creative businesses from all over Namibia.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for youth to showcase their businesses, and raise funds for their SMEs,” said Izzy Haishonga, founder and director of Izzy Cranes.

He added, “We believe in the potential of young entrepreneurs, and this expo is the perfect platform to help them grow.”

The four-day event will feature exhibitions, sales, a motor convoy, a beauty pageant  and a skills competition. These activities are designed to entertain while also highlighting the diverse skills and talents of Namibia’s youth.

Renè le Grande, the event’s spokesperson, emphasised the importance of the expo to the youth.

“We are thrilled to invite the youth of Namibia to this unprecedented event,” she said.

“The Outapi SME Youth Expo will be a celebration of the incredible talents and entrepreneurial skills of our young people. It’s a chance for them to step forward, showcase their work and make meaningful connections that can help their businesses thrive.”

For young entrepreneurs in Outapi and across Namibia, the expo offers a valuable platform for exposure, allowing them to present their businesses to potential customers and investors. It also provides opportunities for networking, enabling them to connect with industry leaders and peers and gain new skills and insights to enhance their entrepreneurial journey. Additionally, the event offers excellent fundraising opportunities, helping young entrepreneurs attract customers and support for their ventures.

In addition to benefiting the youth, the Outapi SME Youth Expo will positively impact the town of Outapi. The influx of visitors is expected to boost local businesses, including hotels, restaurants, and shops. The event will also place Outapi on the map as a hub for youth entrepreneurship, attracting attention from across the country, and potentially leading to future events and initiatives that will further stimulate the local economy.

Participants are encouraged to register as soon as possible. For more information, contact 081725 5551, and follow the Outapi Youth SME Expo page on Instagram.

The organisers are confident that the Outapi SME Youth Expo will be a success, setting the stage for future initiatives that support and uplift the youth of Namibia.
