ONGWEDIVA – A Pentecostal church pastor in Onheilwa village, Shalongo Haimbodi is allegedly threatening to shoot his detractors.

Shaanika Nashilongo, the founder of Monica Gender Equality Human Rights and Social Justice, said he has been threatened with death by Haimbodi after he questioned his church for allegedly misleading villagers.

Nashilongo is an advocate against gender-based violence (GBV) and crime in general.

He said two weeks ago, he was approached by two women who claimed that their family was being misled by Haimbodi, who said the family members were bewitching each other.

Nashilongo said the women were always arguing and fighting after one of the women told Haimbodi she had been bewitched by her sister who stays in the same house.

“I then approached Haimbodi to alert him
about the incident but he keeps posting videos of another woman allegedly talking in her sister’s body. The videos were taken at his church,” he narrated.

Nashilongo said he no longer feels safe or free whenever he is in public.

Last week, the two women filed a lawsuit after Haimbodi posted a defamatory audio and video recordings on his Facebook platform which has a following of 4 997 people.

They were awarded N$15 000 each in damages by Windhoek High Court Judge Marlene Tommasi.

Meanwhile, in a video circulating on Facebook, Shalongo said he has more licenced guns and he was trained to shoot people.

“I have more guns. I am not a coward. I will kill Nashilongo and his lawyers because they are accusing my church. My church is not separating family’s affairs (sic) in the villages,” Haimbodi said in a video posted on his Facebook page.

However, Haimbodi has denied that he made any threats to Nashilongo. “The video was edited, but it is me talking. I am a pastor, a man of God, I cannot kill people,” he said stressing that he only said if he gets arrested, he would kill a person and two lawyers, but not Nashilongo.

He added that he is very disappointed that Nashilongo wants to shut down his church.
