Windhoek
Groot Aub residents have been urged to respect the operating hours of the local clinic, as most of the time residents only seek medical attention after hours. The clinic operates from 08h00 to 17h00.
Maria Lucas, the supervisor of primary health care for Windhoek district in the Khomas Regional Health Directorate, said this at a community meeting on Saturday.
She said the shortage of health personnel at the clinic means the nurse on duty has to work throughout the night and the next day again thus causing exhaustion.
“The people come as they wish.
For a child who suddenly falls sick or an expecting mother it is understandable. But we need the community to cooperate with us,” Lucas said.
