KEETMANSHOOP – A matter in which two members of the Namibian Police’s reserve force accused of murdering Alliste Plaatje, was postponed again for the prosecutor general (PG)’s decision. Appearing before Magistrate Unchen Konjore at the Keetmanshoop Magistrate Court, the two officers were informed that their matter was postponed to 12 June, pending the finalisation of the PG’s decision.
Police officers Bernard Mulisa and Willibardt Neshuku were charged early last year on counts of murder, or alternatively assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
They are currently out on N$3 000 bail each.
It is alleged by the State that the two law-enforcement officers arrested the victim during an operation in the southern part of Keetmanshoop after finding him in possession of a ‘bankie of skunk’ (cannabis). Plaatje was allegedly assaulted in the process, and later succumbed to the injuries at the Katutura State Hospital.
