With the Betway Premiership back on screens this weekend, Orlando Pirates will look to leapfrog Mamelodi Sundowns at the top of the pile on Saturday, while Chippa United scramble for much needed points.
Chippa United are scheduled to face Orbit College at the Olympia Stadium on Saturday, as the Chilli Boys hope for a better second half of the 2025/26 campaign.
With only nine points to their name after 15 matches played, Chippa are rooted at the bottom of the log and recorded back-to-back draws against Siwelele and Kaizer Chiefs in their last two league games.
Ironically, Chippa’s first and only win of the season came against Orbit College on 16 September, as they saw out a 2-1 victory at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium. Orbit College is likewise treading in treacherous waters after 15 games, and is just two points adrift of the PSL relegation playoff zone in 14th.
At the top end of the standings, second-placed Orlando Pirates will take on Sekhukhune United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, with the latter occupying fourth on the table at this stage of the season. Pirates are one point behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns and have two games in hand over their bitter rivals.
The Buccaneers jotted down a 2-0 win over Durban City in their last Betway Premiership assignment in a game that took place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on 29 November.
The Soweto giants are in a rich vein of form, looking ahead of the Betway Premiership restart after going on a 10-match unbeaten streak since their 2-1 loss against Marumo Gallants on 12 August last year.
