Rapidly increasing in local popularity, JAC’s new JAC T9 4×4 Lux bakkie is the epitome of a commanding road presence. Loaded with high-tech features, including a host of safety qualities, the T9 embodies a super-responsive turbo-diesel engine paired with a seamless eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Without a doubt, the T9 offers astonishing performance, exceptional fuel economy, a roomy luxurious interior and to top it all off, it drives with the ease of a sedan to make it a most attractive vehicle for active lifestyles and family adventures.
Available with the N$60 000 deal assist available at JAC Motors Namibia, the T9 4×4 Lux retails for around N$550 000.
“It is a refined bakkie with minimal noise intrusion and a relatively comfortable ride, and is a top-quality vehicle. With outputs of 125kW and 410Nm, the turbodiesel engine is extremely punchy and gets off the mark without major lag, making for excellent driveability. The eight-speed ZF transmission is a smooth-shifting delight and offers driving modes including Sport, Normal, Eco and Snow,” said Karl-Heinz Eisenberg, sales manager at JAC Motors Namibia.
Speaking to Woema, Eisenberg added that JAC Motors is currently offering a N$60 000 cashback discount on a brand-new JAC T9 4×4 Lux! This makes the T9 exponentially more attractive, given it is one of the best value-for-money bakkies on the local market.
After exceeding regional sales targets during the last few years, JAC Motors has set its sights on bigger volumes with the launch of the boldly-styled T9 double cab range. Following its world premiere at the 2023 Shanghai International Auto Show, the T9 arrived in southern African showrooms last year as the premier model in JAC’s T-Series line up.
JAC Motors in China recently entered into 50% joint venture with Volkswagen. The company started producing light commercial vehicles and passenger cars in 2007 after initially focusing on trucks. Today, the company manufactures its T9 range in China for export to more than 40 countries.
A growing Chinese brand, JAC entered the Southern African market in 2017. The manufacturer first entered the region with a range of commercial vehicles, and is today supported by a network of over 70 dealers in southern Africa.
What’s more, JAC Motors has revealed plans to launch several new models in southern Africa over the next year, including the T9 SUV, which will be the brand’s first passenger car.
During a recent interview, CEO of JAC Motors SA Karl-Heinz Göbel called the T9 a game-changer for the brand as it takes on well-established competitors.
The T9 range comprises four models, including 4×4 and 4×2 derivatives, all powered by a 2L turbo diesel engine paired with the eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. Behind the striking grille with vertical chrome bars is a family double cab with modern trimmings and safety, with a generous array of luxuries.
Some of the appealing features on the T9 include a 360º parking camera, sunroof, leather upholstery, front seats with heating and electric adjustment, 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone mirroring, wireless charging, a seven-inch driver-information screen, cruise control, multifunction steering wheel, a 220V power outlet and climate control with rear passenger ducts.
Both the Lux and Super Lux models have active and passive safety features including six airbags, stability control, hill-hold assist, ABS brakes, tyre pressure monitoring and automatic headlamps.
With a length of 5.3m, the T9 is a roomy bakkie with a 1 000kg payload and a comfortable cabin that accommodates full-sized adults.
